Day 2 Ahipara to Kauri Coast - 89 miles, 2,442m ascent

Departing in the early light we embarked on one of the toughest days.

Every corner revealed a special vista. 

Rural homesteads often invisible from the gravel track, but marked by their postboxes. 

Dairies  were often combined with the store

Consumed 3 Snickers, 2.6 litres of Gatorade - massive sugar rush!
