Sadly, Blah blah blah Café not yet open for breakfast and there’d been a run on veggie pies!

Bee hives and stunning views to...
Lunch on the road, amazingly not squashed.

Post 100km cycle, the latter quarter over some gruelling gravel.
I ran out of water as I arrived but restocked on two L&Ps (Lemon & Paeroa - like Sprite sort of), banana milkshake, a Cornetto and almond Magnum. Needless to say, this was too much!
Loading the ferry required manhandling 50 plus bikes up to the top deck (relays of 8 ‘helpers’ lifting all the bikes from one level to another)...
...whilst the riders waited.
Needless to say they squeezed on all but four bikes (most booked but others on standby in hope).
And of course the tandem.
